Traditionally, when we hear the term 'slave' we think about a scrawny, chained individual wielding a large rock-hammer. Those slaves were at least painfully aware of their servitude and who their masters were. Modern day slaves have had their external chains removed without them noticing their freedom is still lacking. There is no more sickening sight than a comfortable slave - one who is ignorant of his servitude, confusing convenience with freedom.
