How many will see a violation of the NAP?
The non-aggression principle(NAP) can be viewed as the holy grail of peace and prosperity on earth.
Simply stated, 'aggression' in this context is defined as the initiation of physical force, against person or property, or the imminent threat of such initiation. By 'initiation', it is meant to exclude force used in self-defense against those initiating force. Furthermore, 'defensive' force is force exercised in proportion to the original violation.
It has so far never been successfully refuted that, given that this one rule is strictly enforced throughout a given society i.e. the non-aggression principle, no other outcome than large-scale peace and prosperity would result.
In spite of these claims and in spite of a lack of evidence to refute them and all the evidence in the world showing the initiation of force to be the one common denominator to all forms of theft and physical violence, the practical, consistent application of such a principle is nevertheless lacking in so-called civilized countries. Tracing any cause-and-effect relationship between the initiation of force and a lack of peace and prosperity is not some highfalutin activity reserved for academics or experts. It is a matter of common-sense.
The difficulty, however, in changing one's ways so that one abstains from such initiation of force, still needs to be overcome.
When looking at promises by politicians, it can be all too easy to slip into the same old habit of excusing some for violating the NAP, because it is 'for protection of the citizen, or consumer'. For this to have weight and any traction, politicians and their protected cronies, who benefit from such exceptions, must emphasize every-day problems as having little or nothing to do with their actions but rather are just an inevitable part of being human. You will often hear claims of 'greed' and 'corruption'. Whilst it's certainly the case that these are lamentable traits, what isn't mentioned is the only conditions under which unsuspecting individuals are rendered victims of such human characteristics.
On closer inspection it turns out that in spite of claims that human greed and corruption will lead to extinction of all life on planet earth, there may just be factors not commonly brought to the average person's attention. Doesn't it, for instance, depend on who's property the greedy are being greedy with? Doesn't it depend on how much power over your person and property you yield to those you already largely agree are only human and thus unable to withstand temptation to sell your representation to the highest bidder?
When looking at promises made by those who expect to be held to a different moral standard of account, by those who will tell you it is 'a necessary evil' that they be excused from prosecution for violating the NAP, what do you see?
Some will see a politician/businessman threatening to initiate force to protect consumers (from the greedy in the market and the corrupt within the State).
Others will see a politician/businessman threatening to initiate force to protect cronies (by creating artificial barriers to market entry).
How many will see a politician/businessman threatening to initiate force?

"It'll be on Your Head" - those same old ones.
They'll tell you the sky will fall without you granting them this special privilege. And if you don't acquiesce, may God have mercy on your soul.
This power to counterfeit money goes straight to the head and it is highly addictive.
So when faced with the temptation to grant it, just say no. You don't have to shout and scream, you don't have to join a march. Just ensure you never speak in support of it or excuse it on some spurious justification borne out of fear. Instead, just quietly withdraw your consent.
Monopolized industry stake-holders can never claim to have the best interests of their consumers at heart....if they did, they wouldn't have to resort to force to get consumers to buy their product or service in the first place.
When a business is forbidden entry to an industry sector, and the consumer is holding a gun (via the State) to the would-be new entrant's head, that is not what we teach our children is okay to do.
End it

The Rise and Fall of the Left-Right Pendulum
The political pendulum swings Left to Right and back again over time. But what many do not notice is the hand holding the pendulum, which moves up and down... without the certainty or predictability of the Left-Right swing.
History, Voltaire once noted, is a Mississippi of lies. Because there has always been a war on for your mind. Thus those lies are aimed squarely at ordinary individuals, who must never be permitted to wake up to their true potential. That is what Slavery was all about. It is what the failed experiments in the former Soviet Union were about. And it is what all modern forms of State-protectionism including: central banking, public education, government-licensed medical practice, are about, today. It is also why aggressive wars are waged under a defensive garb and why the internet is under threat of authoritarian censorship. It is, in the final analysis, what underlies all forms of seemingly unresolvable human conflict.
In the midst of all the attempts to suppress man, to put and keep him down, history is punctuated with examples of an irrepressible urge on the part of man to be free. You can imagine this as the hand, holding the pendulum, moving up, while attempts to suppress man are the hand moving down. You can imagine this up-down movement creating an irregular bounce over time.
George Orwell once said the real division is not between conservative and revolutionary, but between authoritarian and libertarian.
After a while of studying the pendulum picture, it becomes noticeable that the pendulum can only ever be lowered by getting it to swing Left to Right and back again.... continually. And a large part of that is about distracting you from the ongoing up-down battle. Because if individuals ever started to seriously suspect that ongoing large-scale conflict is not inherent to being human, it would be over very quickly. This is why the distraction - the Left-Right swing, the polarization of Left and Right - increases the closer mankind comes to waking up.
The Left-Right political spectrum forms a middle(together with those who opt out of politics), which is for the most part oblivious to the up-down bounce. On either side of this middle is a minority. One minority is tiny and exercises vastly disproportionate influence over the middle. But occasionally, the larger minority, whose only goal in life is to be free to flourish and prosper under voluntary association with their fellows, becomes organized and resolute enough, to raise the awareness of sufficient numbers in the middle to give it a real chance of upsetting the balance of power.
To me, what we are witnessing in the form of Brexit, Donald Trump and Marinne Le Penn is a mixture of Right and Up pendulum movement. Arguably a lot more Right than Up, at this point but that is likely due to the extent the Left has been pushed over the last decade or so. You could also say humanity's chances of breaking the cycle have never been as good as they are now.
One thing is for sure, nobody who prefers liberty to slavery has anything to gain by writing off their fellow human beings, completely. Least of all at a time like this, when it could go either way in the coming years. Life is full of surprises, some of them actually pleasant. And, as Margaret Mead said: never underestimate the power of a few thoughtful, committed citizens to change the world... it's the only thing that ever has.
So why not rather join those who love liberty. Get educated on history and get a firm handle on some basic economics. In doing so you will become a devastating threat to those who are dead-set on keeping mankind suppressed and who rely solely on misdirection and the perpetuation of logical fallacies, using fear as their main tool to do so.

Anti-racism video, used to undermine Brexit voters as a whole. Ironic?

Crime - real crime - is the violation of the Non-Aggression Principle. If you haven't heard of this, look it up because they don't teach this in public schools. I was astounded to find that I wasn't taught this, as a kid.
The NAP says you may not violate a person's right to bodily integrity nor his property, and includes imminent threats to the same effect.
That is all. All non-threatening language may be upsetting, it may be shocking, and be downright nasty. But it is simply not real crime. Anyone who claims it is, no matter how many degrees they have or how high up in government they are, is betraying your trust in them, as being better informed than you are.
When someone gives you their rendition of crime, you should know how to interpret the facts in the light of some history. (Sorry, if you were told you could be made safe without taking responsibility for what you know/don't know.) Otherwise you, yourself, may be in violation of the non-aggression principle.
These same people don't care about protecting you. All they care about is baiting you into giving the State more power over you, knowingly or otherwise. Choose your friends wisely. George Soros, who directs the Open Society Foundation? Or George Orwell, who wrote Nineteen-Eighty-Four.
There is something far more precious than a bruised and battered ego.... and that is individual liberty. You can recover from a bunch of thugs laying into you with taunts and slurs in a non-violent way. Individual liberty is not so easily recovered.
As soon as anyone violates the Non-Aggression Principle, prosecute them. Don't go easy on them and say things like 'Karma will get you'. Don't run to Big Brother either. They are merely a bigger version of the same bullying type. The real shame is that individuals have relinquished the responsibility to know, when it comes to his rights and responsibilities, when it comes to where we are in the broader picture. Real friends will help you to recover that individual responsibility. An enemy will try to relieve you of that 'burden'.
You should only use the law to fight real crime. Anything else is an abuse of State power. Don't go down that road.

Unicorns and Public Consumer-protection from Non-violent Market Action.
Putting the earth-shattering revelation that politicians lie, whilst maintaining the look and feel of genuine decency, to one side.
Having the right to know what you are buying is not the same as having the right to find out(without resorting to violent means) what you are buying.
No-one has the right to force others to deliver that information. Note that what I'm talking about here has nothing to do with fraudulent claims about one's products. It is specifically who is required by law to inform you about a product or service which is on sale.

Blaming our genes...
Here is a link to an article entitled, 'First new Alzheimer's genes discovered for 15 years' the pre-text to which says:
"Scientists have discovered the first new genes linked to Alzheimer’s for 15 years and say the breakthrough could point the way to preventing 100,000 people developing the devastating disease. "Overall, taking a down-to-earth practical view, our genes are given to us by our parents but the genes they gave to us were not necessarily identical genes to the ones they received from their parents or their parent's parents.
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/health/healthnews/6140429/First-new-Alzheimers-genes-discovered-for-15-years.html
Genetics is about coding and, as such, is highly analogous to software code.
As any software programmer will tell you, every software program exists in source-form as well as object-form. 'Source-form' is simply the program as it is written by the programmer, in plain text, into a text-editor. The 'object-form' is this source-form compiled into a machine-readable form, ready for execution, and is traditionally what is copied and distributed by the software manufacturer.
If we translate the above news-story quote into software equivalent terminology we might easily get: 'Business analysts have discovered, for the first time in 15 years, existing source-code linked to a major bug within business software, and say the breakthrough could point the way to preventing 100,000 copies of the program developing the devastating bug.'
If you're a software developer you're smiling right now. This shows, amongst other things, how the media is free to report sensationally on scientific data with virtual impunity.
It's laughable because, as any software developer will tell you, bugs in software don't just arrive without being caused by willful intention or by neglect or ignorance on the part of the programmer. It makes it sound as though the software program has a life of its own and thus absolves the programmer of all responsibility. And shouldn't we be ever-so grateful to business managers, being the geniuses they are, for somehow uncovering the 'cause' of the previously unfathomable problem?
One could conceivably divide possible causes into 'direct' and 'less direct' causes.
The movie, 'What the Bleep', gives a glimpse into how our bodies are continually being wired and rewired - they are modified by thought and intention. This returns responsibility - at the very least partial responsibility - for what happens in the field of genetics to what individuals are thinking and intentionally putting forward.
As for direct causes, individuals as actors can again be seen to play a role which has been long overlooked i.e. by paying closer attention to diet. For decades those who (of course) knew better, told the rest of us that some fats were good for the human heart and others were bad and the bad ones could lead to serious risk e.g. heart-failure. Since the advent of the internet and especially broadband technology, information has come to light which has contradicted former 'experts'. Now we are seeing oils such as Palm oil and Coconut oil being praised for their properties which actually promote heart health and even, according to some claims, reverse diabetes.
I forget who once said, 'As a man thinks so is he.'
All of this serves to emphasize that it matters what viewpoint you take in life.... which may be based on how much responsibility you take for being well-informed vs how much responsibility to relinquish to those who expect you to take their word on authority, rather than on merit. Relinquishing responsibility, for being well-informed, to experts ordained by authorities might easily have serious tangible repercussions in the every-day life of an individual or group of individuals.
If ideas have consequences, surely it matters 1) who pays the price for bad ideas and 2) how free an individual or group of individuals are to mitigate against the risk that comes with acting on bad ideas.

Meek schmeek!
'A regrettable influence on mankind is the King James translation of the beatitude, "Blessed are the meek . . ." This phrase is a paradox to thinking man, for "meek" implies spineless submissiveness. Many experts consider this word a faulty translation. In fact, the French Douay Bible translates the beatitude as: "Blessed are the debonair. ."
"Debonair," according to the dictionary, is "affable, gracious, genial, carefree, gay and jaunty." That's hightone. It makes more sense. Personally, I've never seen a doormat inherit anything but a little more mud.'
